my first post, let's talk about the weather

same viewpoint,in winter and summer below

A great way to cover a tree stump.

Doesn't the fountain look like a Christmas tree?

Hi everyone, well, here I go.I don't know what I'm doing,as you will soon see, but I'm diving in anyway.I came up with a title 2 months ago and that was as far as I got.I didn't know where to start and still don't really.I want to share my world with you, inside and outside our home.I have shared my cold winter blues woes with many of you at Micasastyle so today I thought I would just start there, with the weather. We are a tough bunch here in Saskatchewan,we often have brutally cold winters and this has been a pretty bad one.We always get snow but lately we have got way more than average years.Today I had to shovel paths in our yard so our dogs could walk out there and they are large dogs. When I opened the door to let them out,we couldn't even see the steps, snow is everywhere and lots of it.I watched them bravely go down where the steps used to be and then it looked like they were wading in water it was so deep. It's really amazing to see so much of it but it is hard work moving it around.I really am tired of it and I miss the warmth of summer and the beauty of the flowers we grow so I thought I would share some pictures with you of both. The season I'm tired of and the one I'm waiting for. These pictures are from our home and also from my mom's.What's your winter been like and do you have any snow?

Yippe, I get to leave the first comment! I'm so glad you got started. I cannot believe the amount of snow. I'm telling you I would just curl up and never leave the house. But those flowers are amazing, so you have something to look forward to. Hugs, Kathy

Oh Cyndi, when you said snow you meant it. That is a bunch. I love the way it lays on the tree in the middle of the back yard. When I lived in Oregon I loved to look at the snow pile up on the pine trees just so perfectly that it looked like each flake was placed just so. The flowers in the summer are just gorgeous. You're a great gardener. Can't wait to see more. Hugs, Marty

Glad you started and I look forward to seeing your world inside and out :-)

We have only had a few flurries this winter so I want snow. NOT like 8 feet but 1 foot would be nice. It's supposed to get down to 12 friday. Burr

Your flowers are beautiful...see the cold helps plants do their thing!

Hi Cyndi! Thanks for stopping by and the very kind comments! I'm so glad you decided to jump into blogland. You'll love it here. There are so many wonderful ladies and so much inspiration. You'll have to post pictures of the inside of your house. I may have missed them on RMS since I haven't been there for about 6 months. I love to garden too so we have a lot in common. The resident guru of gardening is Tootsie over at tootsie time..you'll have to check her out. She has amazing gardens! Hope you have a great time. You'll learn tons as you go along. I've only been here 5 months myself so I'm still figuring it all out!

Hi again Cyndi! Look how far you've come already. Love your playlist, did you know that Norah Jones went to the same College of Music that Cait attends? For that matter, so did Don Henley of the Eagles. Just a little factoid for ya. Love the sidebar pix that you posted, your grandaughter is adorable. I bet she is just the apple of your eye. Keep up the great work, I'll be watching haha. Hugs, Kathy

Hi Cyndi, Oh my goodness what a pretty family.Beautiful boys, beautiful DIL and your little angels!I have 3 pretty boys and I have a red head also but his is auburn. We were hoping for one of the grandbabies to be a redhead but they all have brown hair with highlights, you know the kind that look like copper in the sun.Red heads are special people, I have always thought.I use to get stopped when he was 2 and people would actually ask if it was natural.UHH! no I use clairol formula #4 on him at two. I use to answer politely but laught hysterically when I would repeat the story. Keep blogging, I am counting on you to tell me how easy this is ,Hugs, Kathysue

Hi Cyndi, :)
I thought I would stop by and say Hello and see if you are staying warm.
I hope all is well.
Can you believe we actually had a pipe freeze in our Master Bathroom last night. You know it's cold in NC when that happens. My husband was able to fix it by pouring lots of hot water down the drain and thawing it out. No harm done. WHEW!
We know we were lucky...:)

Have a great weekend.
~Melissa

If you join Tablescape Tuesday with Susan you will meet soooo many new bloggers. It's really a wonderful event.
It's fun too!
I'm planning a Valentine/Anniversary theme table.
Not this week though. :)

Hi Cyndi! Thanks so much for dropping by my tablescape and for your sweet remarks! I had to come see your beautiful garden again...19 degrees here! I'm sure that's warm for you, but we are FREEZING here in the South! Have a great day...Debbie

Kristen said...

I guess I like snow so much because when we get it, it doesn't stick around long.
You guys definately get way more snow than us.

Around here you can tell who is from the south and who is from the north. Then south people are playing and happy. The north are like go away, that's why we moved here!
