Met Monday You won't believe what we did here.Yes,really,it's the same place!

Thanks again to Susan for hosting this wonderful Metamorphois Monday. Be sure to visit her to see all the wonderful posts.http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/

Yes,this is what we started out with here,it was pretty bad.It was a very, old mobile home,14x74 ft with a small addition which made it around 950 sq.ft.My husband had vision,I didn't.It took us a few years but it is almost done now.It is now over 1800 sq.ft. and completely different, thank God.I don't have many before pictures,my husband took these. He did all the work,he has been in the construction trade for many years but it was still quite the undertaking even with his knowledge.

He added a new peaked roof over the whole place, new windows, new, well,to be honest, everything is new.We paid for it all as we went and we don't owe a cent and it feels great.I love my home now and wouldn't want to be anywhere else,it's perfect for the two of us and our fur family. For today I will just show you the kitchen and dining room and in time I will proudly show you every room he made. The new part has the high ceilings, the original part, the lower ones.

someday the plan is to have all stainless steel appliances,I can wait
the pantry by the fridge has rollout shelves

I love my tumbled marble and the undercabinet lights and I was so happy to find just what I wanted for hardware at Rona. The cabinets, they are alder, are from Euro-rite(canadian company) and my husband custom made the crown molding.

A closeup of some of the details

I chose to have one big sink here and a smaller prep sink is located on peninsula with dishwasher next to it.I love my bridge taps too.

looking into the dining room ,I love the arches my son made for me.

the soaring ceiling in the dining room

had to show you my chandy, bought from costco,it was bronze,I wanted it black so sprayed it

the dining room

This door will lead to a new deck(hopefully it will be built this summer) in our back yard.Just around the corner past the arch to the right of the dining room,I even managed to get a bonus walk in pantry.

I still almost can't believe it's the same place!

I have always loved your kitchen, but it is even more amazing after seeing the "before" pictures. Just a beautiful transformation. Makes it all the sweeter, doesn't it? It is hard to believe it is the same space.

Cyndi, everytime I see the before pictures I just can't believe the difference in your place. You know I LOVE your kitchen. I think your DH did such an amazing job with all the moldings and you do have such a talent with picking out the right combinations of fixtures and accessories. Your DR is so bright and airy and the deck off of it will be the crowning touch. I love the decorations you chose. Just an unreal transformation. Hugs, Marty

I would never in a million years guess that that's a mobile home!! You and your hubby have done some amazing work. It took a lot of vision to see what could be done with the house you started off with!!

I really like the pendants over your peninsula. Your wood cabinets are nice too. And the arches are great.

You've added a lot of extra little details to your house that really stand out. Great job!!

Hi Cyndi
Your place looks beautiful! You are so lucky your husband is able to do all this work so that you can get it just the way you want it. I can't imagine it doesn't look anything like it did before. The detailing is really something. Wow! You MUST love it for sure.

I'm sorry you had to work today...I didn't realize or maybe I should have realized that all of Canada got this day off as Family Day. Well each province I mean.

Odd that your grocery stores are open. Ours are not. The malls are closed too. They've posted it that way all week so there is a bit of a difference then.
Well..I hope it was a shorter day for you and you can sit back and enjoy yourself this evening.

Hi again! I love meeting new friends from all over! Thanks for the tip on the furminator, I've never heard of it but will check into finding one. My german shepherd sheds so bad in the spring, I usually use a shedding blade on her OUTSIDE, even at that we both end up covered in hair! Nice to meet you!

this is wonderful!!!! You did a fantastic job!!!!
I love all the details!
the weather here in Red Deer has been very mild...for the most part this month...ya think we are in for "it"?

Hi Cyndi!Hope your having a great day. For the dirty pears, all you need are some cheap plastic pears, apples would work too. Just paint them with modge podge or craft glue, then while they're still wet, sprinkle like crazy with ground cinnamon, let dry on a rack of some sort and ...Viola...dirty pears! If you sprinkle over a bowl, you can reuse the cinnamon you get and you don't waste as much. Have fun! Oh- I found a pet catalog that sells furminator I'll probably order me one next payday!!!

Cyndi, I wanted to let you know that I removed my remark because my identity was on here from Micasa and didn't want you know who to find it. He's back at the naughty comments there....on my page and others! Glad you're here and thanks for stopping by to see the pups! Your slide show makes me cry! I always think of the commercial on TV to that song! The sad one because no one wants those animals! Sad!
