let them be little

A week ago we had the privilege of having our little granddaughters stay with us for the whole weekend.It was the first time we were brave enough to have our little Summer,who is 10 months old now,stay with us for that long.We had the best time ever.It wasn't so much what we did, but just having the two of them all to ourselves for two whole days was special enough.Hannah and I made cookies, she loves baking with me. We all went to the pool(it was Summer's first time) and visited their great-grandmas.Summer has two teeth now,crawls and walks around the coffee table.

I know that many of you are grandparents and understand the joy that these little ones bring to us.Just two years ago we hadn't even met Hannah,now we have her and Summer in our lives and can't imagine it without them. I feel so lucky,so blessed,so happy and you will see by the pictures that grandpa Gord feels the same way.What an absolute joy they are.I think that I appreciate little kids even more now that I'm a Grandma. Everything just seems so precious.Does that make sense to you? Is it because they aren't with us everyday or is it that we are older now? I don't know but I just love it.

On the way taking these sweet little ones home,we talked and decided that as long as it is possible we want to have a weekend like this once a month for as long as they want to come.Expect many updates!

Cyndi, this is adorable. The love just jumps right out of the pictures. Your grandbabies are just precious. My husband and I just love having our grandkids all to ourselves. It is so much more fun than when the parents are along. We always say we will do whatever they want as long as it isn't going to hurt them. In other words, if they want ice cream for breakfast, then ice cream it is. You get the idea. We always tell them they can stay up as late as they want and then they fall asleep 10 minutes later. Too funny!

Hi Cyndi~ I was reading your post on essential oils, I want to start cleaning this way. Where do you get your oils from? Also for the laundry do you still use detergent or just the oils in the hot water? any info.you can give me, greatly appreciated!

I love your blog, the picture of your dogs got me teary eyed. We rescused our current dog from the shelter about 5 years ago after our family dog passed on. She's been a great joy--and I would never think of any other way to bring a pet into my home.

Hi there, so glad that you were inspired to do the wheat grass. It is so rewarding, very little to it. About the containers..my silver dishes were about 2 inches deep and it seemed to work okay. Not sure if one inch would do, but you can experiment with it. Good luck!

Cyndi, This slide show is so precious. I love the music to go with it. They grow up way too fast. My grand-daughters live in Texas. I miss out on so much. I didn't know you were in blogland. I do remember you from RMS. Have a great day!

It was so nice to see your comment the other day, Cyndi - it's been a while since we connected! I totally know what you mean about "visiting the marble"... when ever I'm at stores like Home Depot - or the stone warehouse I wrote about - I always have to touch the stone. Haha! I should mave mentioned that in my post :-)

Loved this post about your grandchildren... one day I'll have grandbabies to hug and spoil!

All the best,
Victoria
